Full House Renovation and Rear Extension
Sector: Residential-Care home
Semi-detached house in Croydon, the project involved a full house renovation and internal opening alteration. This house was previously refurbished but very large cracks appeared in the ceiling joist due to large deflection. We have re-checked all steel size and provide a structural solution to prevent a further deflection. Our solution provided additional support to the new loft conversion as well as designing for new stability frame to the rear extension. As such, we worked closely with both the Architect and the Contractor to ensure that a feasible solution was achieved.

Renova consulting Engineers provided the Structural consultancy for the demolition and alteration of an existing two story semi-detached including extension. Due to soils settlement site investigation was undertaken to determine the soil capacity to design a new footing foundation for the new extension. The superstructure is primarily of masonry construction, with a steel crank frame to the loft and new steel beams create the large opening to the ground floor.

New Build, 60 bed residence Renova consulting Engineers provided the Structural & Civil Engineering consultancy for the 60 bed new apartments and care home within 2 blocks A&B. The buildings are 3 storeys RC frame structure in the central area of the site. Work was involved to undertake a site investigation, design of the foundation, retaining wall, RC frame and design for additional steel frame to the roof to accommodate proposed design. Due to the complexity of the job, we have been involved from the initial design stage throughout the stage, involving number of site visit and structural supervisory.
